The project purpose is to the investigate damped oscillatory free motion of a mass within water. Students use a simple pixel-tracking software to track a point of the mass to generate an exponential decay-like graph from an initial vertical displacement. Students use the logarithmic decrement method to calculate basic vibration parameters.
