Bu kadarı küçük bir haber olarak gazetelerde çıktı çıkmasına ama, sanatçılar gazete sütunları için pek çekici konu değildi. Oysa bundan önceki Mark Twain üyeliği ilk Türk olarak Atatürk'e verilmişti. Şimdi ikinci Türk de Sait Faik oluyordu. Aradan yıllar geçti, bugüne kadar başka hiçbir Türk bu onura layık görülmedi."
