Summary, etc	Küreselleşen dünya ekonomisi, deniz ticaretinin ve limanların önemini artırmıştır. Limanlarda elleçlenen kargo miktarının sürekli artış halinde olması, çevre limanlarla yaşanan yoğun rekabet, müşterilerin artan performans ve bilgi talepleri liman operasyonlarında bilişim ve iletişim teknolojilerinin kullanımını adeta zorunlu kılmıştır. Son yılarda liman otomasyonu ve liman bilişim sistemleri konularında da önemli değişiklikler olmuştur.<br/>Bu kitap, konteyner terminallerinin otomasyonu konusunda Türkçe olarak yazılmış olan ilk eser olup, ülkemizde bu konularda araştırma ve geliştirme faaliyetlerinde bulunan araştırmacı ve akademisyenlere bir kaynak teşkil edecektir. Dünya limanlarında kullanılan otomasyon ve bilişim sistemlerinin sistematik olarak incelendiği bu kitap, yazarlarının yoğun olarak 2006-2008 yılları arasında Güney Kore'de araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştıkları yıllarda gördükleri dersler, yer aldıkları araştırma ve geliştirme projeleri, katıldıkları seminerler, saha çalışmaları ve edindikleri tecrübelerden derlenmiştir. Basılı kaynağa dayanmayan bilgiler (örneğin ders notları, sunum dosyaları, kişisel görüşmeler, vs.), kitabın yazımı esnasında internet ortamında araştırılmış ve mümkün olduğunca erişilebilir kaynaklara atıf yapılarak verilmeye çalışılmıştır.
